Over the past two weeks or better, I have been exploring Scripture to learn more about justification. Justification is the act, process, or state of being declared right with God. My interest in justification came from me wanting to understand better my identity in Christ. Before I can genuinely, or we can truly understand our identity in Christ, we must first be declared right with God, justified. How do we do this? By faith in Jesus Christ.
On this journey, one of my readings was Galatians chapter 2. Verses 20-21 says, I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”
What I have learned so far is that:
Spend time alone with God
Discuss with other Christians
Anyone can trust. God and be forgiven
No service, deed, giving, or effort can substitute faith.
Never compromise the truth of God’s Word.
God loves me because he loves me. Jesus did. The work on the cross. There is nothing I can do more or less for God to love me. Isn’t that a beautiful truth? I catwalk in the confidence of God because my identity in him is secured in the fact that He loves me, not because of what I can and cannot do.
Is your identity secured in Christ? Do you know who you are?
