If you are not for me, then you are against me are some of the realists’ words I’ve ever heard. Most people fail to realize that Jesus said these words. We all know what it is like to have people who are just not on the same page as far as getting tasks accomplished. How difficult is it to agree and make good choices? It’s hard. It’s hard because there is resistance, opposition. Yet, when we are on the same page and agree on matters, the decision-making process is more straightforward. Things can get accomplished.
Well, Jesus was driving out demons, and the religious leaders, teachers of the day, said that he was doing so in the name of Satan rather than in the name of God. So basically, they were accusing Jesus of expanding the kingdom of evil rather than of the Father. Jesus calls them out. He first asks, so who do you work for? He then goes on to teach that a house divided can not stand. People against themselves will be ruined. Lastly, Jesus teaches that there is no neutral ground. If we are not actively for Christ, we are against Him.
Luke 11:23, whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.
Because God has already won the battle, why be on the losing side?
