Pray…He Listens

Have you ever had a moment where you were left speechless? A moment where you are completely taken by surprise and don’t know how to react or respond? I recently had one of those moments– a moment where I was knocked down off of my high horse. Knocked down by the knowledge that I don’t have things figured out. That the things that I think I have a grip on are not even in my hands. A moment when truth sits in, and though I want the truth, it hurts.

God is so faithful in making sure that when we seek Him, he answers. Even when it goes against what we think God should do. When it goes against our comfort zone, He still manages to bring about his will and purpose. I often go to God and seek him in prayer and in his word about being Humble. Yet, when He humbles me, I instantly want to fear or question His workings in my life. It is not until I go and sit at His feet that I remember what I went to him in prayer for.

I want those of you who read this devotional to know that God answers prayers. He may not always answer them in the ways we expect yet, He does so in a way that is mind blowing and often challenging. I urge you and I to trust him, even amid the confusion of a storm. He is faithful to hear our prayers, answer them, and move as a result of them.

Pray with me and for me as I do the same with you. He is listening!

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5:6-11
