If we put Gods desires at the center of our planning, he will never disappoint us. It is when we make plans, then go to God for support of our plans that we made without him, that we face disappointment. Over and over my husband has told me I do this, I will make my mind up about something that I want to do, but when I go to him its not to discuss what we should or should not do, but more so what aim going to do regardless. I would only talk to him to make him feel included. I never paid much attention to it, but now I think about if I did that in my marriage how much more have I done it in my relationship with God.
I understand that we all have goals. There is noting wrong with having goals and planning. The problem is when we leave God out of them. When we fail to put His desires for us in the center of our decision making or planning. We need to remember that the best and most important part of planning we can and should do is to consult God.
