Help Me

Something that I have learned about God is that He prepares us for everything. He prepares us for what we know is coming our way and He prepares us for the things we can not see coming. The more I thought on this I asked, how does God prepare me? I answered my own question during a bible study class that I taught on Thursday. I made the comment, “Start your day in the word of God. When we start our day off with the word of God there will never be a time when you read something and not be able to apply it that day.” God always gives us an opportunity to apply what we have learned or He gives us the strength, the peace, the encouragement, or whatever we need to get through that day or that moment.

My scripture reading that morning came from Isaiah 26:8-9, Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name. 9 In the night I search for you; in the morning I earnestly seek you. For only when you come to judge the earth will people learn what is right.

As I sat back and meditated that night and the next morning on my day and how I applied Gods word I realized a few different things:

  1. When we show our trust in God we are literally waiting for God. We are allowing him to lead the way.
  2. We express our commitment to God by obeying his laws; mere lip service is not sufficient.
  3. We are to long for God’s presence so vividly that we eat, drink, and see God’s goodness.
  4. Don’t wait for judgement to do what is right. We are to glorify God with our entire being.

Questions:

Do you trust God enough to wait on Him?

Do you know what what the laws of God are?

Do you long, have a strong wish or desire, to be in the presence of God?

Do you seek to do right, God’s way, in every area off your life?
