Day 1 with Joshua

Hi my loves!

During the next five days we are going to take a journey through the book of Joshua. There is so much encouragement that we can get by diving into this text. In a world full of turmoil we can all use a bit more truth to grow our roots. My prayer is that as we take time each day looking at what God has for us, we will have eyes to see, ears to hear, and a desire to apply the wisdom we gain.

Let’s dive in!!!

Joshua 1: Be Strong and Very Courageous

How do you handle opposition?

Trying to face opposition against giants in our own strength will leave us crushed but it is in Gods’ strength we should fight.  Joshua 1:5 says “No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.” God gives us the assurance of victory through His presences so that we can be strong and very courageous!

In John 16:33 we are given a warning and a promise from God. Jesus says  “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Our response is to be Only Strong and Courageous. Joshua 1:9,  “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.””

Meditate on: Joshua 1: 5,9 John 16:33

Application: Trust God with every step of your life moment by moment.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for your word that teaches us not to be discouraged because you are with us. Help me to understand how to live out this truth daily. Remove from me all fear. Lead me in trusting you with all circumstances including when I am faced with opposition. In Jesus name, Amen.
